  1. my favorite oil is EVOO(extra virgin olive oil). Its kind of thick and provides my hair with lots of moisture. It leaves my hair feeling amazing.

  2. My favorite oil is coconut. It’s so versatile, I use it to pre-poo, finger detangle, moisturize and just last night I mixed it with a little olive oil to deep condition my twists. They have a nice sheen now and feel lovely. Coconut oil is one of the few oils that can penetrate the hair shaft so in my opinion there were more uses for it than oils that cannot. I already follow the blog and have liked the fbook page.

  3. I love coconut oil! It is the only oil I have really ever used and I like the smell and how it seals in the moisture in my hair. I feel like coconut oil doesn’t leave my hair looking oily or greasy or gives me a wet look however it seals in my moisture and prevents me from ever having a dry ‘fro which is not cute.

  4. I loooove coconut oil! It works great on my hair, whether its in twists/braids or as a wash & go. Sometimes I add essential oil to it and it makes my hair smell delicious!

  5. I love olive and coconut oil mixed together. One’s really heavy and the other is light so they kinda balance each other out to keep my hair moisturized and happy.

  6. I like coconut oil and grapeseed oil. I use it on my hair and skin to keep it soft and moisturized. Using it on the skin after a shower instead of baby oil locks in moisture and sometimes I mix it with my lotion.

  7. I love castor oil. It smelled horrible when i first started to use it but eventually i got used to it, especially when i started getting the other scents like lavender & coconut. I love the way my “twist-outs” look after I put in castor oil.

  8. I have the hugest tub of coconut oil in my bathroom, that I use for my face. on my hair ends before I leave the house. for my edges when I’m done washing my face… One time my boyfriend got a little crazy and decided to use coconut oil to fry some eggs o_O nope.

    • interesting! coconut oil doesn’t clog the pores?

and lol @ the egg frying.. my mom cooked with coconut oil for awhile. it got all foamy. it tasted fine, but i just couldnt deal well with that image.

  9. Let me tell y’all about my favorite tea tree oil. That stuff gets rid of an itchy scalp but doesn’t weight my hair down AND repels Mosquitos!!!!! I swear sometimes that oil saves my sanity

  10. My favorite oil is castor oil! I was averse to it for a while because of it’s thickness but one night after spraying my hair with water, I put some castor oil on and went to sleep. My hair felt luxurious the next day! I’ve been in love with it ever since then, it’s the best sealing oil for me.

  11. My favorite oil is Extra Virgin Olive Oil because it is so versatile. I use it in my hair, on my skin, in my food. I am so close to literally morphing into olive oil. All my friends make fun of me for it. I add it into most of my hair products… I am an EVOO fanatic.

  12. My oil selections change with the season; b’c my hair and scalp need different things. During the winter/fall I usually use a combo of evoo and coconut oil; while in the spring/summer I have a spray bottle with mixed jojoba, tea tree and sweet almond oils.

  13. Since I’ve only been natural 5 weeks I don’t have a fav oil. Things have changed drastically since the last time I was on this journey. And with all the new products out I will say I’m a little intimidated. Can some of you seasoned vets offer suggestions for a 3rd time neo?

  14. My two favorite oils right now are sunflower and grape seed oils. The sunflower oil because it keeps the moisture in my hair like no other oils I’ve found and grape seed oil because it leaves you with an amazing shine.

  15. I use hot six oil with rosemary, tea tree, coconut and carrot oil added, but my favorite is coconut oil! I love it, I use it in my spritz that I carry with me all the time.

  16. I’ve never tried anything by Darcy’s Botanicals but this sounds delicious! I don’t really have a favorite oil, I like castor oil but I wouldn’t call it my “favorite” and I have a love/hate relationship with coconut so….

  17. My favorite oils are grapeseed and coconut. Coconut was the first oil I purchased when I first went natural & it’s a staple product for my hair & promoting hair growth. Grapeseed oil is perfect for when I want to blow dry my hair or if I want some shine on this type 4 head of hair lol I love both of them, they are fantastic!!

  18. my favorite oil is Jojoba oil it seals my ends and makes my hair feel soft and its not to thick that i’d need to wash it out after a week 🙂
